Retreats

Lying on the yoga platforms, surrounded by tall, leafy trees, birdsong carried by the gentle breeze, you breathe your way into a state of bliss…

…where, fully grounded for the first time in a long time, a poem starts to take shape in your mind, or it finally strikes you what your character needs to do next in your screenplay, or the novel you had set aside starts to thrill you again. You dig in and WRITE!

When you’re ready for a break, you go for a hike through nearby Buchanan State Forest, immersing yourself in nature. Or maybe you decide you need some creative play, so you make a collage or paint something abstract. Or maybe you rest in a comfy hammock in the trees, simply being.

At the end of the day, you sit around the bonfire, laughing with new friends, toasting marshmallows and making s’mores. You’ve never felt more YOU!

You yearn to write, and you know you could create something AMAZING if you did. You just… don’t.

You’re never happier than when you write, but you can’t seem to get yourself to do it!

You’ve been telling yourself, “I’ll get some writing done, WHEN…”– when you get caught up at work, when your kid’s soccer season is over, when you get your place cleaned up – but there’s always another WHEN.
